"Just got back from a fantastic stay at Chalet in La Rosiere with Mountain Bike Safari. Jason, our host for the week met us at Geneva in the minibus and took us straight to La Rosiere. A case of beer and a BBQ followed before bike prep ready for the next day. After a continental breakfast and after a few minor adjustments we dropped the 1,000mts vertical Singletrack from the chalet down to Bourg St-Maurice. The sun was up but still cool. Our guide, Romain was a great teacher, coach and good company. He knew the area really well, spoke better English than me and lead the front by example. The local shop Sport 2000 needs a mention, always ready to make "creative" repairs where necessary.
Lots of variation with the rides, down steep through the forest, fab scenery. We cycled through the park by a river and onto the funicular up to Les Arcs. Rode hard all day, ended up back in Bourg for a cold beer before Jason turned up with the minibus and trailer to take us home. The rest of the week just got better, La Rosiere and down into Italy then Tignes (free lifts) for a day, Ste Foy, Les Arcs and La Plagne. We had a day off in the middle which we spent at the Roman baths in Italy. We have done Les Gets loads of times, the best bit about La Rosiere was the big drop out of the chalet each morning. Oh ...and the food was great with some nice wines...and more beer of course!

Even if I am new to MTB, I now see what all the hype is about. Great riding all week (even if I was at the back for most of it!), awesome scenary and a great service back at the chalet.
